Options for 10g Standard Edition data security

Hello,

I'd like to know what my options are for securing / encrypting data that is passed to and from client workstations to my Oracle database.  We are running Oracle 10g standard editions on windows servers (2003 and 2008).  The options do not have to be limited to Oracle solutions, I will look at third party software too.
