Multi Node Configuration

Linux server =  application server, concurrent manager server, web server, forms server

Windows server = database server

Running a report from System Administrator.  Report completes with Error.  Log file says:

ORACLE error 20100 in FDPSTP

Cause: FDPSTP failed due to ORA-20100: File o0217451.tmp creation for FND_FILE failed.
You will find more information on the cause of the error in request log.
ORA-06512: at "APPS.FND_FILE", line 410
ORA-06512: at "APPS.FND_

I realize this error has to do with the utl_file_dir directory / APPLPTMP setting.  How do I set this on a Linux/Windows split configuration?  I have logged SR with support, but I don't believe my analyst is familiar.  Refers me to notes which I have already read.  None of the notes seem to specifically talk about split configurations on different operating systems.  I have been trying different configurations to no avail.  I would be greatful if anyone would be able to tell me how I can accomplish this set up.  Thank you in advance.
