Attention: To align with new corporate security policies, and to match policies adopted by other communities within Oracle, the My Oracle Support Community access requirements will change beginning September 18, 2025. Chart of Accounts R12 Management Segment

I have a client wishing to extend a COA segment by another character and have advised that this is similar to a new chart implementation.

But I have read about this one change that can be made using the Assignment of a Management Segment to an existing COA.

Can anyone tell me whether this creates a new segment into the existing chart?
