Oracle directory objects

 A developer has identified a need for which Oracle directories may be a solution.  His solution would require that possibly millions of directories would eventually be created.  I found no limitation , such as maximum number of objects.  I tried an impact test by creating 60,000 directories.  What I noticed was that the size of the dictionary increased by about 950 bytes per directory.  Does anyone know of restrictions regarding Oracle directories or negative impacts beyond dramatically increasing the size of the system tablespace?
