Data Pump using remote Oracle directory objects in Unix...is this feasable?
I need to import data from one database server to another remote server. I don't want to use the network_link feature as the manual suggests that feature should be only used for smaller 'filtered' data sets.
My question is, is it feasable to create an Oracle Directory object on the remote db that points to a directory on local server? Both are UNIX/AIX LPars. What's involved if it is feasable.
I'm going to approach our Unix team on Monday but wanted to have some understanding of this before going to them.
Thanks in advance.
