Is it advisable to add an additional segment to an already defined and in use key flexfield, in this

 Hi,

I would like to find out if it is advisable and what measures to take to add an additional segment to the PO_ITEM_CATEGORY structure under the Inventory Item Categories key flexfield?

Currently we have defined this structure as a 3 segment value and due to a new business requirement they would like to add a 4th segment to this structure.

If we go ahead and add this 4th segment as non required do you forsee any issues?

Our plan after doing so would be as follows:

1. Disable all 3 segment values currently defined.

2. Create the new 4 segment values

3. Update the inventory items with the new 4 segment PO item categories
