Closed an SR without resolution and when I go back and look at it, it says closed with solution

Curious if anyone else has had their SRs changed after they close them.  I raised a Non-Technical SR late last month, oracle couldn't solve it for me and said it was not possible to fix so I closed it without a resolution.  Went into MOS today and it is now closed with solution. 
This is the first SR I've raised with the new system (I rarely open SRs these days), and was wondering if it is oracles policy to close with solution even thought the client requested close and not resolved?

I don't but I know of some clients who use the reporting out of the MOS to monitor SRs that have gone sideways on them.  This would seem to skew the reporting results.
