Essbase server hardware questions
1. SAN disks with a normal Windows server,
or separately
2. Virtual servers (VM Ware types of setups) with Windows2003 on top of a virtualized environment connected to SAN disks.
Does this generally work well, or not so well, including production multi-user performance of large Essbase databases?
What should we be especially watchful for if we try either approach?
Any help would be appreciated. Oracle tech support has refused to comment on these questions - I do not know why except they said we could pay Oracle Consulting to assist.
