emctl status agent gives strange message:Environment variable ORACLE_UNQNAME not defined. Please set

GC have found all the targets on the host. But I cant use status/start/stop, it gives the following error
 :/u01/app/oracle/product/agent10g/bin> emctl status agent
Environment variable ORACLE_UNQNAME not defined. Please set ORACLE_UNQNAME to database unique name.
Agent: 10205
OS: SLES11

This is a re-install after a corrupt oraInventory.

What ORACLE_UNQNAME is this?
