Using the Effective Date functionality in Address Book

Question:

To use the Effective Date functionality, you need to update the constants, and then if you change the mailing address of a customer, and run R01840, this puts a 1 in the (ALEFTF) field and updates the effective date (ALEFTB).  Is this correct?

Does this mean that going forward all documents will print with the new address? However, will old AR invoices, pick slips, pack slips etc, all still show the old address?
