Adding COA Segments after Go live

Hello

 

We have started an implementation project with Oracle 12.1.2 and we are finalizing our chart of accounts.

We have many segments and since the customer is a financial institute, a need for more segments might rise in the future, after Go live. The "standrad way" is to place some segments as future segments, but we would like to see if there are other alternatives.

 Is there a way to increase the number of segments  - add more segments to the COA after Go live?
