USPAY: Automating tax exemption status due to Jones Act employees
Our company has a lot of employees that fall under the Jones Act, which means that the employee is exempt from state tax unless the employee requests the withholding. I am wondering if there are any other companies out there that have implemented an automated solution to exempting these types of employees in Oracle HRMS? Currently we manually enter the payroll tax override on the address screen for each individual employee. We are also checking the non-resident certificate box on the state tax form to prevent the employee's wages from reporting. And we are checking the SIT Exempt box so
