restoring a 10gr2 database on 11gr1

after doing the 11g restore sucessfully, the recover command returned these errors:

 ORA-01194: file 1 needs more recovery to be consistent
ORA-01110: data file 1: '/u02/oradata/LCCC/system_LCCC_01.dbf'

RMAN-03002: failure of recover command at 05/19/2010 05:00:30
RMAN-06053: unable to perform media recovery because of missing log
RMAN-06025: no backup of archived log for thread 1 with sequence 375135 and starting SCN of 4996748986 found to restore
RMAN-06025: no backup of archived log for thread 1 with sequence 375134 and starting SCN of 4996742188 found to restore
RMAN-06025: no backup of archived log for thread 1 with sequence 375133 and starting SCN of 4996734442 found to restore  ......

why wouldn't rman apply the archived logs that were in the backup set automatically. i'm not sure i understand the rman-06025 errors if the backup directory has all the archive logs ?
