Unique identifier - Shipment number

 Hi,

Currently implementing Order Managment and Transportation Management at a later stage.

The business has aunique shipment number generated manually which is referenced on every document during the whole process. The idea is to use the Delivery number as this shipment number, would this make sense? Is the delivery numbery passed to OTM and then subsiquently to AP?

If not correct, what global identifier can be used for this?
