SQL Licensing with Contract Management version 12

 I need to know how the connections between SQL Server 2005 and Primavera Contract Management are made so that I know how many licenses to purchase for SQL.  Since Contract Management is a web based application, I'm not sure how to determine how many User or Device CAL's to purchase with our current Contract Management configuration.  I also have an option to purchase per CPU but I need to know so I can purchase the proper licensing for our SQL Server.
