R12.1.2: What is the difference between Summarize by GL Period and Group By GL Period

 Hi Everyone,

I wanted to know what is the difference between Summarize by GL Period and Group By GL Period? 

Lets take the example of Assets and Category Depreciation. Lets say we have below entries for May-10 period.

Depreciation Expense CCID1 100 (DR)
Depreciation Expense CCID1 100 (DR)
Depreciation Expense CCID1 100 (DR)

Depreciation Expense CCID2 75 (DR)
Depreciation Expense CCID2 75 (DR)

Accumulated Depreciation CCID 450 (CR)

So what will be final entry if I set up Summarize by Period and Group By Period??

Go to ASM => Accounting Setups => Search the ledger and click on "Update Accounting Options" => "Subledger Accounting Options" => "Subledger Accounting Options" click on Update
