Baseline Schedule

 I am constructing a baseline schedule for one of the project. I included few activties with actual updates that were completed before the data date I had set for the Baseline However the client is asking me to remove the as built and submit the baseline without any actual dates. However, I think that the baseline should reflect the current state of events in the schedule and if activties have been completed , they should be reflected in that manner. I would like to know some opinions and what is the best practice in the construction industry.
