IBM zS: How to validate the prerequisite rpms for an Oracle installation on Linux on zSeries ?

 Although we have a variety of notes listing the packages required, it's not easy to cross check them against your system - this is one of the most frequent issues, and causes of installation problem that we get on this platform.

To alleviate this, Oracle Support have created a pseudo package which cross checks and validates the packages installed on your system against the required ones - and, depending on whether you are connected to an update server and use the necessary invocation parms, it will also bring your system up to date if its back level.
