RDBPROD: Dropping storage area

edited Jan 10, 2014 7:38AM in Rdb on OpenVMS, IBM zSeries and Oracle on OpenVMS (MOSC) 1 commentAnswered
I'd like to reclaim some disk space by dropping a storage area that we no longer use.

There is no data in it but was originally allocate quite large (18GB).

(The area is still mapped to a table with hashed index)

I want to make sure there is no AIJ or snapshot growth as a result of dropping as I will not need to restore the area - I simply want the .rda file to quickly and easily go away and not affect anything else.

p.s machine is on OpenVMS Alpha - Oracle rdb version 7.0-64  (no intent to upgrade this older machine)

Howdy, Stranger!
