Revenue loading a schedule

 I want to know the best way that I can load the schedule with revenue and bid items. I have used the CSI code for loading the bid items on the construction schedule. And used resource as a way to load dollars on all the activities under each bid item. Most of the bid items are quoted as lumpsum so I had given $1 as price per unit to the resource labelled as revenue.

Can I use expense tab also as a way to load the cost? What are the advantages or disadvantages of using either method.
