Fragmentation
Hi all,
** Oracle is investigating this issue, but in parallel is opening the topic to the Community so that Community members can add their perspective, experience or knowledge. This will further enhance all knowledge bases including My Oracle Support and My Oracle Support Communities; assisting all Community members and enabling richer solution searches.**
I had few queries regarding fragmentation in oracle 10g.
1) How to evaluate of fragmentation degree, how to calculate the most contiguous free chunk?
I did find the following Notes :
Note.1020182.6 Script to Detect Tablespace Fragmentation
Note.1019709.6 Script to Report Tablespace Free and Fragmentation
Any other insights?
2) How to find out which objects cause the tablespace fragmentation most seriously?
