Carriage Returns in OTM Remarks

We are sending through ActualShipment XML with Remarks containing carriage returns. Once the XML goes into OTM the carriage returns are stripped out. We verifed this by comparing what the XML we sent to XML stored in I_Trasmission table.

Is there a way to keep the carriage returns from being stripped out by OTM Integration?
