Oracle 10.2.x Client on Windows 2008 R2

I am trying to install the Oracle 10.2.x client on my Windows 2008 R2 server so that I can create a linked server in SQL 2008 SP1

I installed the Oracle client 10.2.0.1, but that I didn't have an Oracle data provider available in SQL Server.  After doing some research, I discovered that I should be running 10.2.0.4 with Windows 2008 R2, so I uninstalled 10.2.0.1, and attempted to install 10.2.0.4.  The closest I got to installing 10.2.0.4 was to get the OUI to splash screen to appear before disappearing.

After further research, I discovered that I needed to installed 10.2.0.1 and apply the 10.2.0.4 patchset.  I downloaded that, but when I run it, it doesn't recognze that I have an existing Oracle Home.  Since its a patch set, it won't install except to an existing Oracle Home, so I'm stuck.

Howdy, Stranger!
