11gR2 Listener configuration

 Hi,


11gR2 documentation mentioned that, "If a default listener is not present in the grid infrastructure home, then DBCA returns an error instructing you to run NETCA from the grid infrastructure home to create a default listener"


What is the advantage of having Listener from grid_home other than avoiding the DBCA errors in RAC environement?
Is it recommeded to have ASM listener from grid_home and database listener from ORACLE_HOME in RAC environement or create a listener for both from Grid_home ?
