Implement RAC.

 Hi all,

We have oracle 9i enterprise edition and maybe these year we want to change to rac system but there is a few question...

1. Is that true that RAC will not increase the performance of database, but rac is just to get high availability only (maybe rac use shared storage).

2. Besides the advantages of RAC whether there are disadvantage of rac if we compare with common system.

3. If we wan't to implement rac without upgrade the OS version and the database version, what is the specification hardware that certified with oracle 9i rac (shared storage, server machine and etc)...
