Oracle 11g R2 RAC - Linux or Windows

Hi,
we are in the process of configuring a 11g R2 2 node RAC system for our business critical 24 x 7 application
we have the option of using either Windows or Linux
SA's are inclined towards Windows and DBA group is inclined towards Linux

can anyone help us out pointing us to facts / documentation that gives Linux the edge (in terms of performance / management etc) when it comes to deploying RAC 11g R2?

Is it true that all the RAC systems in Oracle Corporation are on Linux and not Windows?
Is it also true that Oracle is developed in Linux platform and hence the software code is tightly integrated with the linux kernel
