Mail To Customers

Hi,

               I have an requirement of sending mail to customers regarding their Quote status.I tried in alert manager,i can able to send internal mails.But External Mails are not delivered.

               If anyone tried of sending mails to external mail id through alert manager means kindly suggest me what to be done.
