R12.1 Valid Multi-GAAP Product Combinations

Team,  
I have encountered an error with the definition of a multi-GAAP product where the primary product is Direct Finance Lease and the reporting product is Loan.  R11i Lease Management allowed me to define this product, but when I tried to define the same in an R12.1 instance, the following error is displayed:

The book classification of the reporting product can only be Direct Finance Lease, Operating Lease, Sale Type Lease.  Please select a valid reporting product.

Is this a BUG?  If not, what are the valid multi-GAAP product combinations?
