ANALYZE INDEX VALIDATE STRUCTURE vs. SEGMENT ADVISOR

I am asked to identify indexes which would benefit from a rebuild.
So far I have read the enlightening presentation from Richard Foote
about the index rebuild myths, so I don't expect any performance
improvements, but the index sizes could significantly drop.
So I wonder what is the best method to identify which indexes
could be reduced in size? Is there some significant difference
between ANALYZE INDEX VALIDATE STRUCTURE and
what the Segment Advisor performs?
This is not about the problem that the ANALYZE INDEX VALIDATE
STRUCTURE will lock the index for updates or the Segment Advisor
being quite resource intensive. I would like to know whether one
