Upgrade from 12.0.6 to 12.1.2

 I'm doing research on our upgrade, and all roads seem to indicate I have to upgrade to 12.1.1 first, then apply 12.1.2 (7303033). Is this true? I can't get to 12.1.2 from 12.0.6 without doing the 12.1.1 upgrade?
