Global timecard entry ?

Is it possible to set up a person to be able to book time into two different projects in two diferent sets of books on the same timecard ?

Scenario:

We have contractors in France that we need to have enter time into UK, French and US projects.

I have looked at global hierarchies, MO and HR profile options and Security Profile options but without success of being able to see projects in separate sets of books on one timecard.

I have raised an SR; they say it can be done but have not as yet given me details - anyone know of any documentation on this ?
