r12 Pencil to Edit is inconvenient - is there a way to default the IB to Edit

Hi Gang,

In 11i if a user had edit access (via JSP role) the IB was opened by default to allow the user to make edits. 

In r12 users must click the Pencil (Update Instance) from the search results and the pencil is only available in the search results.

Is there a way to either default the IB to allow edits without the pencil OR locate a Pencil on the header of the instance also - this of course would be limited to users that have the edit responsibility.

We have set up a read only responsibilty (copied some menus from the Oracle Installed Base Agent User) so our users that have edit access will be limited to specialist that will often be editting data in the IB.
