changing the national character set to UTF8 on 11g R2 database

Hello
we are using the transportable tablespace to move the tablespace from 9i db to 11g db
9i db national character set is UTF8
11g db national character set is AL16UTF16


we need to change the national character set of the 11g database to UTF8 so that it matches the source database
and we can use the transportable tablespace feature to move the tablespaces

Can someone please guide us on how to change the national character set of the 11g database to UTF8
