Hung shutdown immediate after imports - help?

edited Jul 14, 2010 6:45AM in Database Administration (MOSC) 7 commentsAnswered
I am moving a critical system from 9.2.0.8 on HPUX to 10.2.0.5 on LINUX via export/import.  Minimizing the length of the outage is important. I  have gotten the import time down to 40 min by running 8 at once.  During the import I am running with archive logging turned off, and I want to turn it on when done.  But... the shutdown immediate just hangs.   A single OS process (the ORACLE LOCAL=YES process that is child of my SQLPLUS session) stays at 100% CPU.

All imports completed without warnings, so I don't think that there is a transaction to roll back.

Howdy, Stranger!
