ITR SHPI STAT has the wrong sign

I created an Internal Order Shipment and when it was shipped (Intransit)  it created the following entries     subevent_code acct_ttl_code Amount_Dr Amount_CR JV_Quantity

a) SHPI                ITR               1559.35                         -5119 LBS
b) SHPI                INV                                1559.35       -5119  LBS

I would have expected the following entry


a) SHPI                ITR               1559.35                          5119 LBS
b) SHPI                INV                                1559.35       -5119  LBS

Is anyone had a similar issue. How is it supposed to work. Is there any setup that controls the sign for the OPM Quantity?

Is there any patches to resolve this issue?
