how to purge or retain monitoring blackouts?

I have an issue with my grid implementation.  Blackouts that I've keyed in are not retained for very long, and I want to change that.  After a blackout ends, the record gets purged from the repository automatically after a fairly short time.  I do not want this to happen, I want to retain old blackout records indefinitely.

Is there a way to do this?   I've been trying to find more information about retention of records in sysman.mgmt_blackouts, but haven't found anything useful.
