Configuring automatic database shutdown in immediate mode on Windows Server 2008

edited Oct 26, 2010 6:43PM in Database Administration (MOSC) 8 commentsAnswered
Using Oracle Admin Assistant for Windows (Windows Server 2008), I have configured shutdown immediate when service is stopped. However when the Windows server is rebooted, the following error occurs and the database instance is effectively aborted instead of shutdown immediately.  The default configuration of shutdown normal works fine but I really need to implement shutdown immediate for automatic shutdowns e.g. server reboots.
