Upgrade to WL 10.3.3 without producing openjpa Linkage Errors

  Currently in our production env (WL 9, java 5, spring framework 2.5.6, Oracle 11g DB) we deploy a war (compiled and packaged in java 5) that has openjpa-lib-1.2.1.jar in WEB_INF/lib directory.

 

In the logs we see this log stmt:

 

INFO   [timerFactory] openjpa.Runtime - Starting OpenJPA 1.2.1

INFO   [timerFactory] openjpa.jdbc.JDBC - Using dictionary class

 

Our fulfillment process runs with no issues, as it selects/inserts/updates accordingly.

 

 

We are now attempting to upgrade to WL 10.3.3 and java 6 (still keeping the 11g DB)

 

We recompiled and repackaged the same war in java 6 and deployed it to WL 10.3.3 and we immediately get an error like this:
