Commitments due to POs

Could someone please help me with committments in Projects and the relationship with PO?

Could you also address the following issue

Issue related to Project related POs that are showing Commitments
These need to be finally closed or the lines remaining (to be delivered) need to be cancelled before the PO is closed to remove the commitments from Projects. Is this correct?
We are still looking at options - but for old closed POs - "finally Closing" them and then running the PSI Refresh removes the commitments from the Project.
