Utilizing sample login Portlet to authenticate against Active Directory

 Is there an example, tutorial or something that would be helpful in wiring the sample login portlet to utilize the active directory set up in myrealm? I am able to login as weblogic users and restrict content on the desktop to only those users. I created a visitor entitlement group and mapped the active directory group from myrealm to this new role. I was able to restrict access to this role, but the login does not seem to be checking active directory.

Any help, links, documents etc... will be greatly appreciated.

Also, is there a trick to configuring the default security provider within WLP 10.3
