HR: Unable to end date grades that have progression points defined

Hi,
I am attempting to end date position grades that are no longer used.

When I try to end date the grade steps/points, I get an error APP-PAY-07933 stating it can not be deleted because assignments are placed on steps from the scale.  We don't have any current employees in this grade, so I'm not sure why that error is occuring.

Any insight would be helpful - thanks!
