Problems with Upgrading 10g database to 11gR2

I am upgrading an Oracle 10g database with Microsoft cluster over to oracle 11gR2, but I ran into problems with the DBUA, started receiving errors.  is there an easier way to move from 10g over to 11g, should i have chosen install software only and then import the data vs, using the DBUA???  Any suggestions are appreciated.
