material transaction has transaction source code as 'WIP Backflush'

   I have an item with following attributes.

A 'BUY' item, consigned inventory item, WIP supply type is 'PULL'.

I create a Purchase Order for the item and create a Release for it. The material transaction screen shows the related transaction with transaction source type as 'WIP Backflush'. Can anybody explain as to why this should happen or what it means?
