Can we upgrade R11.5.10.2 from Linux OS to R12.1.1?

 We are currently running our Oracle Financial applications Release 11.5.10.2 on Sun Solaris 10. We are planning to upgrade to Release 12.1.1 on Linux platform.

Our approch is the following and would like to know If this is a right approch and is supported by Oracle. Also, If anybody have done the same as Chaning the OS platform and then upgrade from 11i to 12i:

At a high level:

  Setup Upgrade Filesystem on Linux

- Create Target Database on Linux
- Export Data on Sun Sol 10
- Transfer files from Sun Sol 10 to Linux servers
- Import Data on Linux
- Upgrade to R12.1 on Linux

Is this a right approch? has anybody done it? Is it supported by Oracle.
