different DB version

I have a simple question: is it possible to use different Oracle versions for master and MVIEW  databases? Both DBs are on Windows 2008/64 bit, but master DB is 11.1.0.7 and MVIEW DB is 11.2.0.1. Should it be the same version? Are there known limitations and restrictions?
