Importing Contacts into Contract Manager

 When I import contacts into a blank project in Contract Manager, I get a dialog with statistic of the import action.  It states that I have 118 total rows read, rows imported 118, rows not imported 0, parents updated 24, children updated 118.   So what parent records ?  Yes there are a Master and Detail fields in the import file.  Where are the parents ?  The import is all one company with one vendor_abbrev.
