Summary on P03B2002 QBE query

Can anyone assist on a summarisation query on the AR customer ledger enquiry gird (P03B2002)?
When summarise is selected in the header, and filters are entered into the QBE,  should the returned data run over the summarised data or the detail?
I would expect the summary data; however it seems to report on the detail, which is confusing for users and gives inaccurate results.

Is this standard functionality or a bug?
