Excessive T10K drive cleaning in SL3000 library?

Hello everyone,


I am wondering whether this behavior is normal or whether there is a problem.  We have a SL3000 library with 9 T10K drives. The library is partioned betwen two MVS hosts.

We've had this library for about a year and we've gone through almost 20 cleaning carts! This is a lot more than I've seen in other libraries (SL8500) with T10K drives.  I pulled some records from SL Console and it looks like the drives are requesting cleaning every 3 days.

Last year we did apply drive microcode 1.44.210 that was supposed to help with this and it did slow things down. However, the current rate still seems excessive based on past experience...  The carts only get 50 cleans each so at this rate - one cartridge is lasting about 25 days.
