Installing Companion Disk (ultrasearch) on 10.2.0.4 DB

We have a win2003r2 server with a 10.2.0.4 version of DB running.  The companion disk (specifically ultrasearch) was not installed at the time of initial software installation.  I believe the companion disk is version 10.2.0.3.  I'm wondering, is it proper procedure to install the companion disk that we have (10.2.0.3) and then simply re-run the 10.2.0.4 patchset to patch any older companion disk products up to the 10.2.0.4 level?
