I have a  Linux virtual machine and Physical machine running Oracle 10.2.0.1 version . After certain period of time Oracle application stops responding and the only way to recover at that point of time is to reboot the server and restart the Oracle services.

When we try to connect to Oracle instance using "sqlplus" it hangs and the server prompt doesn't comes back. Below are the server stats at that point of time.

Response for Server Stats   top - 23:45:39 up 50 days, 53 min,  3 users,  load average: 41.04, 40.17, 39.99 Tasks: 150 total,  45 running, 105 sleeping,   0 stopped,   0 zombie Cpu(s): 31.3%us, 68.7%sy,  0.0%ni,  0.0%id,  0.0%wa,  0.0%hi,  0.0%si,  0.0%st Mem:   4194480k total,  4133024k used,    61456k free,   150984k buffers
